A curriculum is often a high-quality guide for educators to ensure that all students achieve the desired end -- the attainment of their designated grade- or course-specific standards (Ainsworth,2010). Some curricula in school districts are quite general while others are very specific and give detailed, day-by-day instructions. Constructing a curriculum can be quite difficult, especially without  guidance or models. There are many moving parts to consider and it can feel quite overwhelming. My purpose in constructing this website is to offer a model and steps to help art teachers trying to develop a curriculum.  I bring over ten years of curriculum experience working with teachers to understand standards, build templates, design units, write assessments, develop learning experiences, and evaluate their effectiveness. I am also a classroom teacher, having taught middle and high school art for 13 years and continuing to teach art during our middle school summer school program.

I hope that this offers other art teachers some support in the important work that they do in working with kids and young adults. Please let me know if you utilize the tools on this website or try any of the lessons, and how they work for your students.
