STandards

Picture
Although I work with teachers and curriculum in the three areas of Music, Theatre, and Visual Art, I am choosing to focus my work here on Visual Art.
If you would like to look at the National Core Arts Standards website for further resources or a different content area please go to nationalartsstandards.org .

We are interested in the benefits of a 21st century art curriculum built on artistic literacy and the artistic process. We focus on building student understanding around meaning-making, exploring the choices artists make, and how art impacts our daily lives.

The anchor standards below describe the general skills and knowledge we want students to take away with them after their experiences in the arts. We expect these skills to transfer beyond the students' preK-12 learning experiences and into their adult lives.
